State Park Management Intern - Presque Isle State Park Complex

Responsibilities

Develop new coverage layers and manage data within the Geographic Information System (GIS) specific to the park
Utilize GPS equipment to survey the locations of facilities, infrastructure, and geographic boundaries
Interact with visitors at the marina office and in the field, ensuring excellent customer service while familiarizing yourself with the park's amenities, facilities, and regulations
Assist with marina office duties and gain hands-on experience in park maintenance by collaborating with maintenance staff on specific projects
Participate in park inspections

Required

Current full-time enrollment in a two-year degree, bachelor's degree or advanced degree program in one of the following majors: Park Management, Facilities Maintenance, Engineering, or an approved major course which includes a qualifying 24 credit hours of study in the physical, biological and environmental sciences
Freshman year completed by May 2026
Good academic standing (2.0 GPA or higher)
Pennsylvania residency or enrollment at a Pennsylvania college or university
You must possess a valid driver's license which is not under suspension
You must be able to perform essential job functions
In accordance with Act 153 of 2014, this position is required to complete Child Abuse, Criminal and Federal Criminal History Checks within 10 days of hire
