Responsibilities

Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements
Generate insightful financial reports to assist management in decision-making processes
Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and accruals
Review and analyze financial data, identifying and resolving discrepancies
Collaborate with management to develop annual budgets and forecasts
Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis
Coordinate and support external audits, ensuring timely provision of required documentation
Address audit inquiries and implement audit recommendations
Assist in the preparation and filing of tax returns, ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws
Stay updated on changes in tax regulations that may impact financial operations
Identify opportunities for process improvements in financial operations
Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy
Work closely with other departments, such as finance, compliance, and operations, to ensure alignment in financial processes and reporting
Role will assist with revenue close accounting, expense close, and other general accounting/financial reporting duties as needed

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
4-6 years of proven experience as a Senior Accountant, preferably within the financial services industry
In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and financial reporting
Strong proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Accounting Principles and Standards: GAAP, IFRS, and regulatory compliance
Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy in financial records
Efficient Risk Based Mindset
Accounting Software: Proficiency in General Ledger Systems
Power Bi
Excel Expertise: Advanced formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis
Data Analysis: Interpreting financial data to identify trends and anomalies
Problem-Solving: Finding solutions for discrepancies or inefficiencies
Communication: Explaining financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
Time Management: Meeting deadlines during audits or reporting periods
Ethics & Integrity: Maintaining confidentiality and compliance
Collaboration: Working with finance teams, auditors, and management

Preference for PeopleSoft as accounting software
