Responsibilities

Facilitate cross-cultural communication for non-English speaking dental patients during the appointment including translating patient care interactions between the patient, student, faculty, and dentist, and assisting with completion of health questionnaire forms
Assist with patient appointment scheduling and confirmation for non-English speaking Dental patients
Assist with translation of dental and medical forms and procedural signages for the Dental Assistant and Dental Hygiene Clinics
Adhere to HIPAA privacy laws to protect the confidentiality of patient information
Communicate dental clinic services, protocols, and limitations to non-English speaking patients

Required

Technical Diploma or Associate Degree
2 years of prior customer service/administrative work experience; ideally within the Dental industry
Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to read, write and speak fluently in Spanish and English
An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered

Preferred

Two years' experience as a Spanish/English interpreter is preferred
Workday preferred; Knowledge of Dental Software (Dentrix) preferred
Certificate in the completion of an Interpreter Training Program or the passing of a Certified Interpreter Exam preferred
