Simulation Technician

Responsibilities
Operate and troubleshoot high-fidelity manikins, task trainers, virtual simulation platforms, and audiovisual recording systems
Set up and break down simulation environments according to scenario requirements, including equipment, moulage, props, and supplies
Program manikin responses and scenario software based on faculty instructions
Run simulation sessions, ensuring smooth delivery and technical accuracy
Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and repairs on simulation equipment and related technologies
Ensure all manikins, task trainers, and AV systems are in optimal working condition
Maintain inventory of equipment, supplies, and replacement parts; assist in procurement processes
Update software and firmware for simulation technologies
Assist faculty in designing, preparing, and implementing simulation scenarios
Provide technical guidance during simulations, skills labs, and debriefing sessions
Train faculty, staff, and students on proper use of simulation equipment and technology
Provide on-site assistance during simulation sessions, exams, and skills validations
Maintain documentation of simulation usage, equipment maintenance logs, and incident reports
Support compliance with accreditation standards (e.g., CCNE, ACEN) related to simulation operations
Participate in simulation team meetings to improve workflow, programming, and student learning outcomes
Assist with scheduling simulations and preparing lab spaces for courses and events
Perform other duties as assigned by the director and the Dean of the School of Nursing
Qualification
Required
Bachelor Degree in related field
Three years related experience to the statement of duties and responsibility
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students
Preferred
Experience with technology troubleshooting, audiovisual systems, or simulation equipment
Experience working in a healthcare or academic simulation environment
Familiarity with simulation software (e.g., Laerdal, CAE, Gaumard) and AV systems
Certification as a Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist (CHSOS) or willingness to obtain
