The Network Engineer V will serve as the senior network architect, optimizing network performance and ensuring a high-performance infrastructure for military language training operations.

Responsibilities

Serve as Senior Network Architect for network design and infrastructure updates

Act as Project Manager for high-priority network projects using Extreme devices

Perform tuning, optimization, and proactive maintenance of Extreme Network equipment

Serve as onsite contact for support and product escalations with Extreme Networks

Conduct network assessments, traffic analysis, and capacity planning for future growth

Design network topology to streamline data flow, reduce latency, enhance scalability, and ensure redundancy

Develop software release planning and documentation

Provide knowledge transfer and technical training to IT staff on network infrastructure

May be required to travel (CONUS/OCONUS)

Required

BA/BS from accredited college/university with minimum 5 years experience OR AA/AS with minimum 7 years experience OR 9+ years of relevant experience working with network infrastructure, with focus on Extreme Networks products and solutions

Requires one of the following certifications: CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, or SSCP

CCNA Certification or equivalent

Combination of experience with: VMware NSX: Install, Configure, Manage (V6.2), Ruckus Layer 2 Switches / Wireless Controller / Wireless Access Points, Palo Alto Networks Firewall (PA-7050 / PA-3060 / PA-3260 / PA-5450 / WildFire/URL Filtering), Brocade MPLS Implementation Layer 2 and Layer 3 switches, Cisco Networks switches and routers, Aruba Networks Wireless Controllers / Access Points / Airwave / ClearPass, Ciena 100G OME 6500 DWDM System, Extreme Networks Layer 2/3, MLXE Switches / Extreme IQ / OSPF, BGP, and MPLS, SolarWinds, InMon Sentinel, Uptrends
