Senior Brand Sponsorship Specialist

Garmin is seeking a full-time Senior Brand Sponsorship Specialist in Olathe, KS. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, developing, and managing strategic sponsorships and promotional programs to enhance Garmin's brand exposure and value.

Responsibilities

Act as a mentor to less experienced associates as well as help train newer associates
Be an energetic and authentic brand ambassador for Garmin markets
Manage day-to-day responsibilities related to Garmin’s domestic sponsorships, promotions and events
Proactively look for new sponsorship opportunities to grow Garmin’s business
Be the main point of contact to sponsored athletes and events and ensure the fulfillment of their obligations to Garmin
Evaluate unsolicited in-coming marketing sponsorship opportunities and act on those that are deemed relevant to Garmin’s marketing objectives
Attend/represent Garmin’s interest at sanctioned sponsor events and other grass roots, and non-sponsored events
Establish ROI goals for various activation components and track performance against objectives
Evaluate qualitatively/quantitatively each event/program and continuously improve measures of success
Create detailed reports of all activation programs
Plan/host marketing activities to build relationships and educate others about Garmin products
Create a process to activate locally at events
Maintain a level of professional knowledge of sponsorship options available to Garmin
Be creative, outgoing, social and have a positive can-do attitude
Provide activity reports to the marketing stakeholders and provide research findings as requested by Garmin management
Maintain user expertise in the operations of all relevant Garmin products

Required

Bachelor's Degree in business, marketing, advertising, communication, journalism or related field relevant to the essential functions of this role
Must possess a minimum of 5 years sponsorship experience OR equivalent experience related to the essential functions of this role
Career path candidates will have mastered all criteria from Brand Sponsorship Specialist II as reflected on performance review after at least 1 full year of employment
Demonstrates all competencies of Senior Brand sponsorship Specialist
Demonstrates expert knowledge of marketing, sponsorship, and Garmin products
Demonstrates exceptional skills for developing sponsorship strategies for products and services, assessing current competitive marketing campaigns, and sponsorship execution with little to no oversight
Ability to influence and lead diverse teams from various internal/external organizations with little to no oversight or support from management
Owns sponsorship plans with no oversight
Expert in solving problems through analysis and best practices
Previous experience with managing multiple campaigns with budgets
Demonstrates exceptional knowledge of sponsorship opportunities available
Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to organize, interpret and present various sponsorship data
Build presentation materials and present plan to management
Demonstrates excellent time management and follow-up skills with proven success in meeting deadlines
Must be positive, detail/team oriented, and a multi-tasker with the ability to prioritize and work proactively/effectively in a fast paced environment with little to no oversight
Demonstrates mathematical aptitude to ensure accuracy of accounting documents and sponsorship/event schedules
Demonstrates proficiency in using Microsoft Office programs including PowerPoint and Excel
