Sr. Shopify E-Commerce Developer
REP Fitness is a company that designs innovative gym equipment and is expanding into various fitness-related markets. They are seeking a Senior Shopify E-Commerce Developer to enhance their multi-brand Shopify ecosystem by guiding architectural decisions, improving engineering standards, and ensuring high-performing commerce experiences across international markets.

Responsibilities
Build and maintain Shopify storefront experiences across multiple brands and international markets (localized content, catalog differences, regional promotions, etc.)
Develop and extend Shopify themes (Liquid) and modern frontend components with a focus on performance, accessibility, and maintainability
Implement reusable patterns and shared components to reduce duplication across brand storefronts while preserving brand differentiation
Support a clean approach to market configuration (currencies, languages, shipping messaging, legal/compliance content, and regional UX differences)
Contribute to eCommerce architecture planning (theme strategy, app strategy, integration patterns, performance strategy, and environment strategy)
Lead technical discovery for larger initiatives and translate business needs into scalable technical designs
Identify and reduce technical debt with a pragmatic roadmap and clear tradeoffs
Define and promote development standards: code structure, branching strategy, review practices, documentation, and release readiness
Own or co-own CI/CD for Shopify theme and related web deployments, ensuring safe, repeatable releases
Improve deployment automation across dev/test/prod environments and support clear release workflows for multiple brands
Build guardrails for quality and stability: automated checks, rollback strategies, and production monitoring practices
Support on-call or incident response expectations as appropriate for a revenue-driving storefront
Implement and maintain automated testing for storefront functionality (unit/integration/e2e where applicable)
Advocate for testable code patterns and introduce pragmatic coverage improvements over time
Partner with QA/automation efforts and evaluate/testing tools to improve release confidence and reduce regressions
Mentor developers through code reviews, pairing, technical coaching, and establishing learning plans
Guide the team’s growth in Shopify best practices, frontend excellence, CI/CD, and test automation
Act as a “multiplier” by improving how the team estimates, designs, builds, and ships work
Qualification
Required
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public
Ability to apply common sense of understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
Significant professional experience developing and maintaining Shopify storefronts in production
Strong proficiency with Shopify theme development (Liquid, JSON templates, Shopify CLI, theme architecture)
Strong JavaScript/TypeScript skills and modern frontend fundamentals (component design, performance optimization)
Familiarity with automated testing approaches and tools (unit and end-to-end testing; experience implementing test strategy)
Proven ability to improve code quality in an existing codebase through standards, refactoring, and mentorship
Strong collaboration skills with product, UX, marketing, and IT stakeholders in a fast-moving eCommerce environment
Familiarity with performance measurement and optimization (Core Web Vitals, caching strategies, storefront profiling)
Experience with conversion optimization workflows and analytics instrumentation
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university required; advanced degree preferred
At least 6+ years' experience as an Ecommerce Developer
Proven experience leading AI initiatives from concept through deployment and adoption
Demonstrated success driving change in cross-functional environments
Experience integrating eCommerce with ERP/OMS and middleware/integration tooling
Experience with CI/CD and continuous deployment practices for web applications (build pipelines, automated checks, release automation)
Experience operating Shopify across multiple brands and/or multiple international markets (localization and multi-market considerations)
