Assistant Operations Manager

Responsibilities

Works with across functional groups and leads personnel to ensure all safety, quality, delivery, metal utilization, productivity and efficiency goals are met for branch operations
Monitors people and training to ensure processes within the department result in conforming product which always meets the requirements of the customer
Manages and oversees the reporting of all necessary data to ensure that day-to-day activities within the department are repeatable and in line with safety, quality, and operational objectives
Supports and/or lead continuous improvement projects to support TKA and branch's on-going focus on lean principles, efficiency improvements and cost reductions
Ensures daily production is planned and managed
Ensures Preventative Maintenance program is robust and adhered to
Supports work to attain operational efficiency goals
Supports work to attain quality objectives
Communicates well with Customer Service and other departments
Manages company resources thoughtfully
Complies with all Company, Federal, Provincial human resource policies and laws
Maintains good housekeeping in all operational areas
This is a position that works directly on the warehouse floor around heavy machinery

Required

Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Engineering, or related field
5 or more years of experience in a Supervisory or Management position
3 to 5 years' experience in Continuous Improvement including Six Sigma certification
3 to 5 years' experience in Quality
Strong Project Management Skills
Attitude and aptitude for Teamwork
Proven experience in a high volume manufacturing environment
Must have Aerospace experience if no Quality background
