Responsibilities

Performs highly complex assignments by compiling and evaluating test data and planning test experiments, including: determination of test procedures, limits, and instrumentation. Analyzes test data and results to determine acceptability or application of test item/system or validity of test data
Analyzes and interprets complex data. Takes a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions. Prepares and presents advanced technical reports and presentations to client, both formal and informal
Develops testing new methods that improve process or quality
Assists lower level staff in resolving analysis problems
Conducts and/or leads technical projects or major phases of technical projects
Provides direction to and coordinates the efforts of technical support staff in the performance of assigned projects within time and budget constraints
Reviews projects progress and evaluates results. Recommends modifications and corrections in technical analyses and design to ensure project completion and success
Prepares technical sections of proposals. May manage proposals or major sections of large proposals increasing in complexity
Builds relationships with internal and external clients. Prepares and presents final reports to clients and stakeholders
Public presenting through posters, abstracts or contributing to publications
Communicates with client regarding the schedule and quality of deliverables
Contributes to IR&D studies. Works on projects that involving innovative methods or applications. Develops innovative testing and/or analysis methods to solve complex problems
Supports business development efforts led by others and maintains business interactions with external clients
Contributes to marketing and project development by providing technical expertise and executing responsibilities in client relations. Investigates new project opportunities
May assist with the coordination of and participation in Battelle-sponsored conferences. Participates in scientific conferences, peer review panels, and increases company visibility through publications
Trains lower-level staff to improve technical development
Coordinates and provides day-to-day work direction to lower-level staff to support overall project goals

Required

Bachelor's degree in related field with 8 years of experience or master's degree in related field with 5 years of experience or PhD with 2 years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and or experience in a related field
