City Engineer
Responsibilities
Leads a 44-member department, including Assistant City Engineers, Project Managers, and administrative and financial staff
Overseeing an annual operating budget of $7–8 million and a multiyear capital program totaling $170–200 million
Provides engineering leadership and consultation across city departments
Reviews and approves plans and contracts
Manages departmental budgeting
Represents the City before elected officials, public bodies, partner agencies, and the community
Qualification
Required
Experience delivering large, complex urban capital projects
Ability to provide engineering leadership and consultation across city departments
Experience in reviewing and approving plans and contracts
Experience managing departmental budgeting
Ability to represent the City before elected officials, public bodies, partner agencies, and the community
Strong communication and public engagement skills
Ability to build strong relationships with internal teams, developers, and stakeholders
