Responsibilities

Provide regular coding audits to Carle medical staff and HIM coding team members specific to CPT E/M, CPT Procedural, ICD10CM and ICD10 PCS coding

Provide education as needed, either one on one or in group format to Carle medical staff and HIM coding team members

Compile and track statistics related to the audit process

Attend meetings as required with providers and coding team members on topics related to coding and auditing

Develop education materials related to coding for coding team members and providers in formats such as power point and LMS system

Assist Coding Audit and Education Supervisor in managing audits and audit schedules

Meet with Compliance Billing Administrator and Compliance team regularly to review audits and attend meetings as required on topics related to coding and auditing education needs and follow up

Work with HIM Coding management team to establish coding guidelines and assure coding team audits are completed timely

Report compliance or other concerns directly to HIM Director as needed or indicated
