The role involves analyzing equipment malfunctions, reading blueprints, and ensuring safety and quality in all welding tasks.

Responsibilities

Analyze and diagnose equipment malfunctions
Prepare required documentation including work orders, parts lists, and timecards in an accurate and timely manner
Reading and understanding blueprints prior to starting a project
Sourcing the materials to be used in the project
Measuring and cutting materials to specifications
Welding materials using the correct materials to join the metals together
Checking finished work to make sure that it falls within the tolerances marked on the blueprints
Perform assigned tasks in a timely, accurate and efficient manner
Follow manufacturer and company service guidelines and procedures to ensure safe quality work and to preserve and document component failure information for accurate failure analysis
Maintain a safe working environment and observe all safety procedures, laws, policies, and rules
Math and Measurement Skills: Tape measure, Scale, Calipers, Fillet weld gauge
Communicate with equipment manager and field managers in a manner which promotes a positive relationship
Work overtime as needed and within labor law guidelines
Operate heavy power-driven equipment
Ability to obtain forklift and boom lift certification
Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Required

High school diploma/GED or equivalent
Five (5) or more years of welding experience
Valid Driver's License and ability to drive on behalf of company business
Analyze and diagnose equipment malfunctions

Preferred

Preferred knowledge on the following topics: Operational characteristics of a variety of heavy, power-driven equipment
Maintenance requirements of heavy, power-driven equipment
Methods and materials used in general construction and maintenance work
Principles and techniques of field maintenance activities
Traffic laws, ordinances, and rules involved in heavy equipment operation
Occupational hazards and standard safety practices
Welding Machine set-up: Mig/Tig welding and hard facing of carbon; low alloy steels using solid and flux-cored wire; finishing of welds (chipping, grinding, sanding)
Fabricating carbon, stainless and low alloy steels; Blueprint Reading and Weld Symbols (AWS and ISO); Weld joint prep; Hand plasma and oxy/fuel torches
40 Hour HAZWOPER training
Competent Person Safety Training
8-Hour Supervisory Training
30-Hour OSHA Construction Safety Training
First Aid and CPR
