Adult Clinical Neuropsychologist

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is a global leader in education and research, and they are seeking a full-time adult clinical neuropsychologist to join their Neuropsychology faculty. The role involves providing neuropsychological assessment and consultation services for patients with various neurocognitive and neurobehavioral impairments, while also engaging in training and some research activities.

Responsibilities

Provide neuropsychological assessment and consultation services to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with a variety of neurocognitive and neurobehavioral impairments
Conduct neuropsychological evaluations for a variety of patients
Work closely with interdisciplinary treatment teams and other UNC departments/programs including Neurology, Neurosurgery, Psychiatry, Oncology, Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, and Sports Medicine
Provide surgical evaluations for epilepsy, DBS, and organ transplant surgeries, and neuropsychological services to former professional football players
Evaluate in-patients with acute or chronic neurocognitive impairment to aid in patient care and discharge planning
Provide training experiences for graduate students, psychology interns, and fellows as well as resident physicians
Be the primary neuropsychologist for the Brain and Body Health Program clinic assessing retired NFL players every Wednesday
Engage in some research and administrative activities associated with their areas of expertise/interest

Qualification

PhDPsyD in Clinical PsychologyAPA-approved Clinical InternshipLicensed in North CarolinaBoard Certified in Clinical NeuropsychologyNeuropsychological AssessmentInterdisciplinary CollaborationInterpersonal SkillsCommunication Skills

Required

PhD or PsyD in clinical psychology/neuropsychology
Completed an APA-approved clinical internship with a neuropsychology emphasis
Licensed or license-eligible in North Carolina
Board certified or eligible for board certification in clinical neuropsychology

Preferred

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
A record of interdisciplinary collaboration
Desire to be involved in enhancing quality of patient care
