Vice President, Acquisitions

Easterly Government Properties is a publicly traded Real Estate Investment Trust focused on the acquisition and management of mission-critical commercial properties. The Vice President of Acquisitions will oversee the full acquisition lifecycle, playing a critical role in expanding the portfolio through strategic acquisitions.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, owners, developers, and other industry contacts to source both marketed and off-market opportunities
Monitor market trends and competitive dynamics to identify strategic acquisition targets
Lead underwriting of potential investments using ARGUS, Excel, and other valuation tools
Assess risks, perform market and financial due diligence, and prepare investment committee memos
Oversee negotiations of LOIs and Purchase & Sale Agreements (PSAs)
Coordinate with legal, finance, asset management, and external consultants through the due diligence and closing process
Contribute to the development and execution of the REIT’s overall investment strategy
Evaluate portfolio performance and recommend acquisition strategies based on market dynamics and company goals
Assist with analysis and presentations related to strategic corporate initiatives, Board of Directors meetings, Company financial disclosures, etc
Supervise and mentor junior acquisitions personnel and interns
Work cohesively with other departments (finance, development, asset management, government relations, accounting, etc.)

Required

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or related field
7+ years of experience in real estate acquisitions, investment banking, private equity, or related roles
Proficiency in ARGUS, Excel, and real estate market research platforms
Proven track record of successful deal execution in one or more asset classes
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple tasks, prioritize workloads efficiently, and consistently meet deadlines within a fast-paced environment
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability in negotiation, planning and organization of deliverables
Ability to function in a team-oriented setting as well as independently and take initiative when needed
Demonstrated expertise in stakeholder management, collaborating with internal groups and external stakeholders and vendors, while managing time efficiently
Strong sense of personal motivation and responsibility
Deep understanding of real estate financial modeling, valuation methodologies, and market dynamics

Preferred

An MBA or advanced degree is a plus
Real estate development experience is strongly preferred
Experience in assessing and underwriting GSA leases is preferred
