Senior Infrastructure Engineer / Infrastructure Manager
Phaxis is seeking a highly hands-on Senior Infrastructure Engineer who also provides technical leadership and oversight for their infrastructure environment. This role involves engineering, troubleshooting, and improving systems while guiding a small team and influencing infrastructure direction through expertise.

Responsibilities
Act as the primary technical lead for infrastructure operations, remaining deeply hands-on across systems, networking, cloud, and identity platforms
Design, build, administer, and troubleshoot Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP
Engineer and support enterprise networking solutions including LAN/WAN, VPN, firewalls, switching, wireless infrastructure, and network segmentation
Architect, manage, and optimize virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V, including capacity planning and performance tuning
Build, operate, and secure cloud environments across AWS, Azure/Microsoft Entra, and Microsoft 365, with a focus on reliability and scalability
Implement and maintain backup, recovery, and business continuity solutions using Rubrik or similar platforms
Engineer identity and access management solutions using Okta and/or Azure AD (Entra), including SSO, MFA, conditional access, and lifecycle automation
Troubleshoot complex, escalated infrastructure issues and lead root-cause analysis to prevent recurrence
Provide technical direction, code/configuration reviews, and mentoring to other infrastructure team members
Collaborate with security, application, and business teams to ensure infrastructure aligns with operational and security requirements

Required
Strong hands-on experience as a senior infrastructure or systems engineer
Deep technical expertise across Windows infrastructure, networking, virtualization, cloud platforms, and identity management
Experience serving as a technical lead or senior engineer, guiding others through expertise rather than formal management
A problem-solving mindset with strong ownership of systems and outcomes
Ability to communicate technical decisions clearly to both engineers and stakeholders
