SHEET METAL MECHANIC (AIRCRAFT) SUPERVISOR

USAJOBS is seeking a Sheet Metal Mechanic (Aircraft) Supervisor at Lackland AFB. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as section supervisor over employees engaged in condition evaluation, test, repair, modification and overhaul of aircraft structural assemblies, components, and parts.

Responsibilities

Performs work planning responsibilities. Performs administrative responsibilities. Performs work direction responsibilities
Serves as technical advisor to Flight Chief in the resolution of production problems
Administers the reserve training and associated programs for element ensuring consistent standards throughout the element for traditional reservists and ARTs

Required

U.S. Citizenship Required
Males must be registered for Selective Service, see www.sss.gov
Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance as a condition of employment
Employee must maintain current certifications
Must be a current member of the AF Reserve or willing/qualified to join
Ability to lead or supervise
Knowledge of a wide range of principles, processes, and techniques of trade(s) and/or craft(s) supervised
Knowledge of personnel management policies, practices, and procedures, including sexual harassment and Equal Employment Opportunity/ Equal Employment Treatment
Knowledge of safety regulations, practices, and procedures
Knowledge in using and maintaining a variety of hand and power tools, equipment, and precision measuring and/or test equipment
Knowledge in troubleshooting, inspecting, and/or tracing hard-to-locate defects or problems
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, sketches, and technical specifications
Ability to plan and organize work assignments to include determining resources required to accomplish mission
Ability to implement sound personnel policies, practices, and procedures
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Practical knowledge of and skill in applying the full range of conventional and/or computer numerically controlled (CNC) machining principles, processes, and techniques, in addition to welding procedures
Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends and/or holidays
Shift work and emergency overtime may be required
