New Grad, Entry LevelThe University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) is seeking a Laboratory Research Assistant. The role involves conducting routine biological procedures, preparing chemical solutions, and performing data collection and analysis in a laboratory setting.

Responsibilities
Conducts routine biological procedures such as gel Western blot, protein, immunofluorescence, cell culture, and cell culture-based experiments
Preparation of chemical solutions, media, reagents, stains, and buffers
Conducts immunofluorescence microscopy
Collects, records, and enters research data
Uses computer software programs for data analysis
Performs general housekeeping of laboratory, and operation of laboratory equipment such as centrifuges, meters, microscopes, incubators, autoclaves, and spectrometers
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in a biological or chemical science
General knowledge of the principles and practices of natural and/or chemical sciences
Knowledge of the safe and proper handling and disposal of applicable specimens, materials and equipment
Ability to perform laboratory procedures using applicable equipment and techniques
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Ability to use computers and related software applications
Ability to lift, transport and deliver materials and stock laboratory supplies and goods
Ability to wear and work in personal protective equipment
