Research Assistant

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is a global leader in higher education, known for its commitment to teaching, research, and public service. The Research Assistant will support a residency training project aimed at enhancing curricula and training experiences for Family Medicine learners, focusing on individuals with limited English proficiency and disabilities.

Responsibilities

Create data collection tools
Monitor data collection
Assist with data analysis
Conduct literature reviews
Prepare manuscripts for submission
Assist with IRB submissions and amendments
Support the project manager in preparing grant reports
Coordinate grant team meetings
Attend meetings and take meeting minutes
Contribute to writing up findings, including presentations for professional organizations and manuscripts for peer reviewed journals

Required

Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions
Strong organizational and communication skills, including the ability to give and incorporate feedback from team members
Ability to monitor project timelines closely and respond to immediate needs as they arise
Experience and comfort building and maintaining survey data in Qualtrics
Experience with managing and cleaning quantitative data
Experience attending multi-stakeholder group meetings and taking meeting minutes
Excellent writing skills: experience writing for professional audiences preferred
Experience being a part of an education or social science research team, with experience in maintaining the confidentiality of research data

Preferred

Course work in public health, social work, education, psychology, social sciences, and/or anthropology is preferred but not required
