Information Technology Cybersecurity Specialist (Forensics Analyst/Cyber Defense)

Responsibilities
Serve as senior expert and consultant to top agency management officials in order to advise on integrating IT programs with other programs of equivalent scope and complexity
Supports law enforcement missions by collecting, processing, preserving, analyzing, and presenting computer-related evidence in support of criminal, fraud, counterintelligence, or law enforcement investigations
Uses leading technology and industry standard forensic tools and procedures to provide insight into the cause and effect of suspected computer crimes
Planning and delivering customer support services including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, customer assistance, and/or training in response to customer requirements
Ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, networks, and data
Qualification
Required

Successfully pass a Background Investigation including financial disclosure

You qualify at the GS-14 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position
Creating a forensically sound duplicate of the evidence (i.e., forensic image) that ensures the original evidence is not unintentionally modified to use for data recovery and analysis processes
Using specialized equipment and techniques to catalog, document, extract, collect, package, and preserve digital evidence
Analyzing digital evidence and investigating computer security incidents to derive useful information in support of system/network vulnerability mitigation
