Responsibilities

The Laboratory Technical Assistant performs in-vitro analysis of biologic specimens according to the procedures established for routine areas of the laboratory

The Laboratory Technical Assistant participates in the supportive functions of quality control, instrument operation, limited troubleshooting, and limited problem resolution

Phlebotomy is performed by this position during every shift in addition to the processing and analysis of patient specimens

Qualification

Laboratory procedures knowledgeBasic Life Support (BLS)Laboratory Information SystemsPhlebotomy experienceBasic lab techniques

Required

Demonstrated knowledge of laboratory procedures and equipment

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire for those involved in direct patient care
