Mid-Level Scientist, Chemist or Geologist

Responsibilities
Manage and support environmental assessments and investigations involving surface and subsurface soil, groundwater, surface water, and soil vapor
Support construction, redevelopment, and engineering projects through environmental oversight and coordination
Perform project management tasks with a strong emphasis on proposal preparation, project planning, document control, and organization
Plan, coordinate, and lead field efforts, including environmental sampling and field investigations
Perform data entry, evaluate environmental data, and prepare clear, accurate technical reports
Assist senior staff with preparation of project documents, including work plans, proposals, and investigation or assessment reports
Coordinate and oversee subcontractors and field teams
Mentor and support junior staff
Support permitting efforts and regulatory coordination, as needed
Conduct quality control inspections and document field and analytical results in formal reports
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Geology, Engineering, or a related field
Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience, including experience in Hawaii, Guam, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, or other Pacific Islands
Experience conducting environmental assessments or investigations of surface and subsurface soil, groundwater, surface water, and soil vapor
Demonstrated proficiency in proposal preparation, project planning, and technical writing
Experience performing field data collection, quality control inspections, and formal documentation of results
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across varying levels of project staff
Current 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) certification
Must be able to travel approximately 15% of the time, with assignments ranging from one day up to two weeks in duration
Preferred
30-hour Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Outreach Training
40-hour EM 385-1-1 Construction Safety Hazard Awareness Training
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Construction Quality Management (CQM) Course
