Astrion is seeking summer interns for their Systems Engineering Group in Columbia, Maryland. The internship involves supporting the development of analytical models and tools for missile performance analysis, including data analysis, CAD modeling, and documentation of findings.

Responsibilities

Performing design studies and analysis investigating intelligence information, comparison to existing models and data, and technology trends

Investigating missile characteristics including aerodynamics, mass properties, propulsion, guidance, and flight performance

Generation and evaluation of digital trajectory data using six-degrees-of-freedom (6-DOF) simulation tools

Using intelligence assessments to create and modify CAD models in support of other modeling and analysis efforts

Performing research and augmenting toolsets to enhance modeling techniques and improve current processes

Data analysis and visualizations

Documentation and presentation of work to internal and external customers

Interfacing with SEG management, program management, and government customers

Required

Ability to obtain and maintain a US DoD security clearance. US citizenship is required for eligibility as per the cognizant security agency and requirements of the programs supported in this role

All candidates must be currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program at an accredited college or university

Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater

Degree program in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or Applied Math

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong analytical skills

Ability to read and write MATLAB, Python, or similar code to process and analyze data

Experience with documentation and presentations via Microsoft Office products (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word)

Ability to work in small teams or groups

Ability to work independently with help as needed
