Business Development Director
Inizio Medical is a global medical communications agency that is focused on proactive business acquisition within the pharmaceutical industry. The Business Development Director will be responsible for lead generation, strategic pipeline building, and maintaining relationships with clients to drive new revenue across global markets.

Responsibilities
Co-create strategic growth plans with Client Services/IGP leads to identify priority targets for expansion into white space within existing accounts or pursuing net-new companies aligned with Inizio’s scientific expertise
Translate strategic objectives into actionable tactics, including stakeholder mapping, crafting client-specific value propositions, and selecting optimal engagement channels
Maintain accountability for operationalizing these plans, ensuring timely execution and measurable progress toward growth goals
Establish a feedback loop mechanism with internal stakeholders to ensure continued engagement and facilitate agile course-correction based on market realities
Embed with the Client Services teams to help assess the current portfolio of business and participate in reviews of the current business
Help the Client Teams with long-term assessment of the business viability and growth prospects and lead business diversification discussions
Support the integration of the entire Inizio portfolio of services into the medical agencies
Conduct outbound research and outreach to new pharma/biotech targets and therapeutic areas
Qualify, nurture, and convert cold leads into viable opportunities autonomously managing the sales funnel
Build external credibility through high-impact outreach: direct email, LinkedIn, conference engagement, on-site visits
Ensure continued engagement of client stakeholders between projects through thought leadership sharing, touch points at events, etc
Collaborate closely with Inizio SMEs, Medical Writers, AI/Analytics, and Consulting leads to develop tailored proposals
Embrace team culture: share your knowledge with colleagues and take on mentorship responsibilities
Track key metrics: lead pipeline health, conversion ratios, revenue forecasts, and win rates
Regularly report to Growth leadership to inform territory health, strategic priorities, limiting factors and concerns
Embrace rejection, refine messaging, and iterate engagement approaches under pressure-driven targets
Maintain high levels of ownership, organization, and discipline across long lead-cycle sales efforts
Qualification
Required
Strong sales experience in life-sciences, medical communications, clinical consulting, MSL or similar roles
Scientific background (e.g., Biochemistry, Life Sciences, PharmD, MD, MSc)
Demonstrated success in outbound sales/business development
Highly articulate written/digital communication in scientific contexts
Strong emotional intelligence; adept at influencing diverse stakeholder networks
Able to juggle internal/external stakeholders, drive multidisciplinary collaboration
Self-motivated, target-driven, resilient, with relentless attitude toward sales goals
