Responsibilities

FEA Modeling: Develop and validate FEA models of components and assemblies using appropriate software (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus)
Structural Analysis: Perform linear and non-linear static and dynamic analyses to evaluate stress, strain, and deformation under various loading conditions
Drop Test Simulation: Simulate drop test scenarios to evaluate product robustness and identify potential failure points
Optimization: Use FEA results to guide design optimization and improve product performance, reliability, and weight
Correlation: Help drive correlation of FEA results with physical test data to validate models and improve accuracy
Documentation: Prepare clear and concise reports summarizing FEA results and recommendations
Collaboration: Work closely with product design engineers, mechanical engineers, and materials engineers
Software Development: Develop and maintain scripts and workflows to automate FEA processes

Qualification

Required

7+ years of experience as an FEA Engineer, preferably in consumer electronics, wearable devices, or a related industry
Proficiency in using FEA software such as ANSYS, Abaqus, or similar
Strong understanding of solid mechanics principles, including stress, strain, elasticity, and plasticity
Experience with linear and non-linear static and dynamic analysis
Experience with model validation and correlation with test data
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong communication and presentation skills
Ability to work independently

Preferred

Experience with FEA simulation of wearable devices or small, complex electronic products
Experience with transient thermal analyses to optimize thermal performance and manage heat dissipation
Deep knowledge of material properties and failure criteria
Experience with optimization techniques
Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python
Experience with high-performance computing (HPC)
