GWS Tool Group is a company specializing in cutting tools, and they are seeking a Tool Design Engineer to initiate and complete the concept design phase for various cutting tools and inserts. The role involves collaboration with Sales, Production, and Customers to ensure accurate and timely delivery of tooling.

Responsibilities

Design and Quote custom form tools, Inserts and CBN, PCD, SCD and Indexable cutting tools
Collect data by interfacing with customers and sales reps to help make a selection of tool types
Gather manufacturing and engineering data to effectively evaluate production feasibility of the customer request and provide accurate quotations to the customer
Communicate with customers about quotations, applications and design engineering
Assist inside sales with order processing, phone calls, and mail during times of excessive load
Request material quotes for materials when needed
Make engineering changes to existing designs
Other duties as assigned

Qualification

SolidWorksAutoCADBlueprint readingCutting tool application knowledgeMachining experienceMS Office skillsSpatial awarenessCommunication skillsOrganizational skills

Required

The ability to read blueprints is required
SolidWorks/AutoCAD experience is required
Knowledge of cutting tool series application understanding
Must have MS office skills
Ability to read and understand blueprints
Ability to demonstrate a high level of spatial awareness and ability to conceptualize complex geometry
Excellent oral/written communication skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Preferred

BS in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering is preferred
Machining experience is preferred
Vocational school or apprenticeship valued
Computer programming experience is valued
