Responsibilities
Build and maintain backend services that support billing, claims, risk identification, and operational metrics
Replace manual workflows (PDFs, spreadsheets, inboxes) with reliable, production software
Focus on systems that improve throughput, accuracy, and gross margin
Own applied AI/ML systems that extract structured signals from unstructured data (notes, calls, documents)
Use LLMs pragmatically for extraction, summarization, and decision support
Ensure AI systems are grounded, testable, and useful in real clinical and operational workflows
Take ownership of code delivered by ThinkNimble
Decide what to keep, refactor, or replace based on impact and speed
Act as the internal technical authority so the company is not dependent on vendors
Debug and fix APIs, pipelines, and scripts directly when issues arise
Build systems that can scale once economics are proven
Avoid premature platform work unless it supports real usage or learning
Lay technical foundations only when there is clear operational pull
Qualification
Required
6–10+ years building backend systems in Python
Experience working with healthcare data, billing, claims, or clinical workflows
A track record of automating messy, real‑world processes
Comfort working across APIs, databases, scripts, and ML pipelines
Experience deploying production ML or LLM‑powered systems
A bias toward fixing problems directly rather than designing abstractions prematurely
Preferred
Experience in revenue cycle management or claims processing
Familiarity with EHR data and healthcare compliance
Experience in early‑stage startups where speed and ownership mattered
