Responsibilities
Provide executive oversight of procurement, inventory management, warehouse operations, logistics, facilities management, and depot repair
Develop long-term operational strategies and KPIs to align with Sales, Finance, and corporate objectives
Direct facilities strategy including site maintenance, workplace safety programs, and infrastructure planning
Lead multi-year capacity planning, resource allocation, and budget development across all operational domains
Continuously evaluate and pursue revenue-generating opportunities across operations and depot repair services, ensuring that new initiatives are prioritized, sequenced, and executed in a coordinated manner. Align the team’s focus to high-impact opportunities and communicate progress and outcomes to key stakeholders across the organization
Manage Depot Repair as a profit center for out-of-warranty repairs and refurbishment of used products for sales
Oversee technical teams responsible for instrument repair, ensuring adherence to FDA, ISO, and quality standards
Establish, refine, and enforce repair procedures, test processes, and QC guidelines to maximize reliability
Collaborate with R&D and Quality on escalated repair issues and systemic product improvements
Ensure seamless availability of parts, materials, and test equipment to support depot repair and service teams
Drive continuous efficiency gains in repair workflows, reducing cycle times and increasing throughput
Provide leadership-level oversight of QC for incoming inspections and repaired products
Build and scale high-performing management and technician teams across operations and service functions
Develop succession plans, cross-training programs, and organizational depth to mitigate risk
Lead executive-level performance management, coaching, and career development initiatives based on the 9-Box Employee Assessment tool
Champion a culture of operational excellence, employee engagement, and continuous learning
Deliver executive-level reports on inventory performance, fulfillment metrics, repair cycle times, and financial forecasts
Identify and implement process improvements to optimize cost, efficiency, and customer satisfaction
Ensure readiness for FDA, ISO 9001/13485, and internal audits through robust documentation and compliance in partnership with the Quality Assurance team
Partner with global operations leaders to harmonize best practices and drive enterprise-wide efficiency
Maintain proactive communication with executive leadership and cross-functional partners to keep them informed of progress on revenue initiatives, operational priorities, and emerging opportunities
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations Management, or related field
8+ years in senior operations leadership roles (warehouse, logistics, inventory, procurement) within a regulated industry, preferably medical devices
Proven leadership of depot repair or RMA service operations
Deep knowledge of electro-mechanical/electro-optical systems
Strong expertise in cGMPs, FDA, and ISO 9001/13485 standards
Exceptional leadership, strategic planning, and stakeholder management skills
Demonstrated experience in budgeting, capacity planning, and cross-functional collaboration
Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and engage in hands-on facilities or warehouse activities
Position requires on-site presence in Lombard, IL
Must be able to adapt to dynamic business priorities while ensuring operational continuity
Occasional travel to support global operations or leadership initiatives
Preferred
advanced degree preferred
ERP and service system proficiency (SAP, FSM, Salesforce strongly preferred)
Strong familiarity with managing a P&L and driving revenue opportunities is highly desirable
