Responsibilities

Establishes and maintains long-term relationships with customers (and key external stakeholders) to understand needs, promote customer understanding and awareness of full product/systems/services offerings, and align to provide a solution
Ensures efficient marketing activities and value proposition to the customer
Communicates efficiently with customers and other stakeholders (ISOs, consultants, among others)
Ensures a positive customer experience throughout the sales process
Seeks optimized technical solutions resourcefully, collaborating with broad Hitachi Energy FACTS team
Creates added value for the customer and Hitachi Energy by using innovation and experience from installed projects. Communicates details in accordance with Hitachi Energy offering and strategy
Accountable for the technical solution in tenders and will have a technical coordinating role in tenders
Builds and supports FACTS team for development of competencies and employees in NAM
Supports and participates in market communications: seminars, conference events, publications
Supports Sales in Capture Team activities and is generally part of Capture Team

Required

Master of Electrical Engineering (preferably in Power Systems)
Minimum of 10 years of experience in tender/project work within FACTS for transmission applications
Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States
Experience from building and maintaining relationships with customers for both series- and shunt compensation technology
Customer focus and ability to gather information and convey technical conclusions to individuals in engineering, business, and related industry
Extensive experience from FACTS projects including system design, calculations, analysis and simulations
Experience from new converter technology based on multilevel voltage source converters (VSC)
Knowledge of related engineering tools and software required to accomplish assigned tasks (PSSE, PSCAD/EMTDC, RTDS, among others)
Knowledge of MACH® systems and experience from testing of control system performance in RTDS
Experience from commissioning and testing on site
Experience from routine and type testing of main components
Ability to work to deadlines and within budgets
Ability to maintain an overview of entire projects/bids while continuing to attend to detailed technicalities
Negotiating, supervisory and leadership skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Availability to travel within US, Canada, Mexico and outside NAM; up to 40-50% travel
