DIRECTOR OF MISSION SYSTEMS (TITLE 32)

Responsibilities
Direct the installation, testing, evaluation, modification, maintenance, and reporting of the full range of Communications-Electronics (C-E) equipment and systems assigned
Plan, develop, and implement local work policies, procedures, and goals for efficient operation of the subordinate functional areas
Perform studies and analyzes findings regarding assigned equipment and mission requirements and directs or recommends changes or modifications to equipment or mission requirements regarding equipment requirements or adaptability of required equipment to major military components or coalition forces
Provide technical assistance to organizations/units, major military components in addition to the coalition forces in establishing digital communications requirements
Assign, direct, and review work of subordinates; determine proper work methods and procedures
Prepare and submit budget estimates and revisions for the procurement, installation, and maintenance of equipment and supply items and identifies resource shortages or projected shortages to the Air Support Operations Group (ASOG) Commander, Air Support Operations Squadron (ASOS) Commander, Tactical Air Control Party (TACP) Commander, ANG Wing and the National Guard Bureau
Ensure formulation of comprehensive training plans for each career field and specialty within the functional areas
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. If you are not sure you are eligible for military membership, please contact a National Guard recruiter prior to applying for this position
This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement
Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform
Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment
Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement
Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service
Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation
You may be required to successfully complete a 1- or 2- year probation/trail period to assess performance, conduct, agency needs, public interest, and efficiency. Employment ends unless certified in writing that it advances the agencies interest
Participation in direct deposit is mandatory
Military Grades: Enlisted (TSgt to MSgt)
Minimum Requirements: Experience, education, or training which provided a general knowledge of principles of organization, management, and administration. Experience using computer and automation systems
Specialized Experience: Must have at least 36 months experience, education or training in program or managerial experience in a type of work or a combination of functions directly related to the position to be filled or in comparable work or functions
Experience developing and recommending policy; organizing and carrying out specific programs, evaluating and recommending changes in methods of operations
Experience in supervisory, staff or technical work which included study, analysis or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of managerial or administrative policies, practices and procedures
Experience preparing written communications and oral presentations
Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed
Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel
