The Development Technician will assist in product development, including new concepts and quality improvement initiatives, while supporting R&D projects and maintaining strong relationships within the team.

Responsibilities

Undertake and support R&D Projects

Capability to reliably follow technical details and direction accurately

Develop good culinary skills to undertake development application and presentation work confidently

Capability to cook up product for both internal and external presentations/tastings

Support Project R&D team members with both internal pilot line trials and external factory trials at customer sites

Demonstrate understanding and awareness of project importance and time scales

Maintain close working relationships with R&D team

Develop good understanding and application of development recipe system

Develop and grow ingredient and process knowledge

Capability to report project progress, problems encountered as well as possible solutions

Where necessary, liaise with suppliers and internal department to order ingredients required for development purposes

Required

Interest in culinary food development

Desire to be involved in all parts of the team

Able to demonstrate ability to build effective working relationships

Current, valid driving licence

Able to travel to customers within the UK and EU

Exhibit strong team working skills

Able to work in the Pilot plant with a range of equipment

Able to work with all flours and flavourings using appropriate PPE
