Campus Aide

Responsibilities
Implement daily substitute lesson plans
Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to students' maturity and interests
Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and, in harmony with those goals, establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, and the like to communicate them to students
Employ instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting stated objectives
Assist the administration in implementing all policies and/or rules governing student life and conduct, and in the classroom, enforce rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintain order in the classroom
Remain calm, efficient, and positive
Supervise students in the classroom and in other settings (e.g., lunch, recess)
Ensure the health and safety of students in their care
Work with small groups to support their learning, as needed
Respond to any questions from students and provide support and guidance
Address any immediate problems or emergencies in accordance with the school's policies and procedures
Implement all policies and/or rules governing student life and conduct; in the classroom, implement rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintain order
Supervises students during lunchtime and maintains a positive, safe atmosphere
Circulates throughout the cafeteria during mealtime. Helps students by opening packages and milk cartons
Cleans up spills and provides additional assistance as needed
Assists students through the cafeteria line in an orderly fashion
Ensures students are orderly and acting appropriately
Assists staff in lunchroom clean-up
Interacts with students to maintain order and provide assistance when needed
Adheres to the routines outlined in the school’s Positive Behavioral Intervention and Support (PBIS) plan as it pertains to the cafeteria
Directs students' movement to and from the cafeteria and classrooms in a safe, organized manner
Reports disciplinary and other concerns to the building administrator and/or classroom teacher
Responds to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns
Reports safety, sanitary, and fire hazards to the supervisor immediately
Professionally represents the school and the District in interactions with parents, community, staff, and students
Assists with students’ arrival and dismissal procedures
Monitors hallways and/or bathrooms
Monitor video surveillance systems daily; report all malfunctions and make appropriate recommendations for enhancements, needs, etc
Perform daily building security checks and report any breaches to Building Administration, the Head Custodian, and the Facilities Manager
Assist in lockdown drills and any other security procedures
Assist with interior/ exterior building supervision (common areas, hallways, parking lots, athletic fields)
Assist Administrators as needed with locker searches, student restraints, student supervision, and investigations
Monitor in-house suspension, after-school suspension, and other student supervision assignments as needed
Attend dances, proms, and extracurricular activities as needed
Investigate reports of theft, vandalism, security breaches, etc. as assigned by the Administration
Attend professional development and/or training as required by the District and/or supervisor
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma
Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to present information clearly and respond effectively to questions from students, staff, parents, and community members
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional literature, technical procedures, and governmental regulations
Sound reasoning and problem-solving skills to evaluate information, define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and recommend appropriate courses of action
Capacity to use professional literature, evidence-based research, and ongoing professional learning to inform instructional and practice decisions
Ability to establish and maintain positive, effective working relationships with students, families, colleagues, and the community
Strong organizational and time-management skills to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects
Commitment to performing all duties in compliance with district requirements, state and federal laws, and Framingham Public Schools policies
Demonstrated cultural proficiency and competence in working with students and families from diverse backgrounds
Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and student records
Professionalism and composure in responding to unpredictable or challenging situations
Proficiency in using technology and willingness to learn new tools; ability to operate a computer and utilize software, including Google Workspace for Education
Willingness to plan, coordinate, and participate in ongoing professional learning, coaching, and staff development
Experience in evaluating student skills, interpreting assessment data, and writing clear, concise reports
Strong collaborative, instructional, coaching, and leadership skills to support student programming
Ability to use data effectively to inform instructional decisions and improve student outcomes
Knowledge of specialized content areas, relevant laws, and educational procedures
Ability to plan and implement lessons that align with district and school goals
Proficiency in integrating instructional technology to enhance teaching and learning
A proactive, reflective, and solution-focused approach to supporting student growth and success
