Payroll Coordinator
Legacy Early College is a K4-12 public charter school focused on providing a comprehensive education model. The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for the accurate processing of payroll and managing employee leave requests, ensuring compliance with district policies and regulations.
Responsibilities
Oversee the maintenance of employees’ records within our current HRIS (UKG)
Organize and process all employee information and paperwork within the HRIS, including but not limited to compensation, payroll, leave, and benefits
Process payroll by collecting, calculating, and entering data in the payroll system
Assure compliance with applicable federal and state compliance reporting through the various internal channels provided
Report employment status and updates to the South Carolina Public Charter School District Human Resources department
Assist with report generation, maintenance, and distribution
Verifies the accuracy of data through audits and query generation
Serve as the primary point of contact to answer general Payroll/Leave inquiries and respond to questions or concerns timely and accurately
Support the development of user procedures and guidelines
Communicate with employees regarding their needs for leave and/or modified work schedules. Ensures that employees are aware of their responsibilities and of any documentation and notice required to qualify for and take leave
Oversees the return-to-work process for employees returning from extended FMLA, workers compensation, or other leave(s)
Administers other company time-off programs as assigned in accordance with internal policy and applicable laws
Preserves confidentiality of employee medical documentation and employee information
Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Expertise in HR policies, procedures, and regulations
Collaborative team player: comfortable leading and executing projects as required
Outstanding organizational skills and high attention to detail
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Preferred
Bachelor's degree preferred
Experience in K5-12 school setting, preferred
CPP certification, preferred
Experience with UKG Ready, preferred
Bilingual (English/Spanish), preferred
