FT Technical Specialist - Help Desk Tech/Applications Support

Lansing Community College is seeking a Help Desk Tech/Applications Support technician who will serve as the first point of contact for IT service issues among students, staff, and faculty. The role involves recording service requests, troubleshooting technical issues, and maintaining high-quality customer service in a demanding environment.

Higher Education

Responsibilities

Recording the details of reported IT service issues and service requests
Working to either restore service as quickly as possible
Alerting and/or escalating issues to the appropriate specialist support groups
Applying routine troubleshooting for known issues
Researching and documenting procedures for new issues
Covering specific service and support shifts
Managing a large number of end-user requests
Fostering relationships with end users and other IT service and support subject-matter experts from Level 2 and Level 3

Qualification

Technical troubleshootingCustomer serviceComputer technical supportAssociate's DegreeExperience in IT

Required

Associate's Degree in a computer related discipline or an equivalent combination of experience and technical/computer education
Demonstrated customer service experience
Knowledge and/or experience in computer technical support

Preferred

Three years' experience in computer technical support with progressive increases in responsibilities
