Budget Analyst II

Responsibilities

Handles departmental administration for pre- and post-award grant administration
Works with the departmental faculty on proposal submissions, effectively planning and scheduling activities that guide faculty through the application process, providing sound project budgets, and ensuring proposals are submitted to the Office for Research within the requested time frame
Prepares monthly reconciliations and projections for unrestricted accounts and restricted gift and grant accounts
Reviews and reconciles all expenditures for funding availability and appropriate programmatic support of department’s strategic mission and objectives
Analyzes clinical and financial data and prepares financial and administrative documents and reports for internal and external purposes
Prepares, reviews, and reconciles with accuracy all purchase orders, quotes, blanket orders, cash transmittals, journal entries, payroll, commitments, and other financial transactions and documents
Prepares and reconciles payroll/people soft transactions (hourly pay, other pay, charging instructions, salary, and wage redistribution justifications)
Reviews and disseminates effort certification reports to faculty

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field plus two (2) years of relevant experience in maintenance and review of budgetary and fiscal records
Experience with MS Office (including Excel) required
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills required
Strong organizational and financial skills required
Must have the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
