Responsibilities

General landscape, maintenance and horticulture duties within parks and open space throughout the year. This includes but is not limited to; watering, mulching, mowing, weeding, trimming plants and leaf & tree removal

Responsible for snow removal from parking lots and walk ways, ice rinks and salting of high traffic areas during winter months

Operate park district vehicles and heavy motorized equipment; perform pre-trip inspection of vehicles and equipment

Remove all garbage and trash from parks and playgrounds

Restroom/bathroom maintenance as needed

Assist with site improvement and special projects such as fencing, borders, and playground construction

Prepare ball fields as needed, paint athletic lines

Assist with special event set up and take downs including but not limited to banner hanging, fencing, lighting, sound systems, transporting equipment, table and chair setup/take down and trash collection

Perform general maintenance of district vehicles and equipment such as filling vehicle tires with air and sharpening blades on mowers, saws and weed, grease, oil and filter changes, wash vehicles and equipment as needed

On-call duty for after hour and inclement weather response

Perform all jobs and tasks within guidelines and rules of District’s safety program

Perform other related duties as assigned
