Principal Test Technician - Equipment Engineering (D1)
GlobalFoundries is a leading full-service semiconductor foundry providing design, development, and fabrication services. They are looking for a Principal Test Technician to sustain the Development test floor by resolving equipment and process issues while participating in continuous improvement processes.

Responsibilities
Monitor, control, and qualify 200/300 mm semiconductor equipment
Perform basic preventive maintenance activities
React to error messages of factory systems and/or equipment
Process wafers using defined procedures
Perform visual inspections (quality check)
Recover from process and tool interruptions
Identify and address potential areas for improvement and optimize tool availability, cycle time, utilization, and cost
Complete all required reporting and documentation
Understand and follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures and requirements
Actively participate in continuous improvement processes, learning and skills development
Strong team member, able to work well with a global team, and other duties as assigned
Follow detailed instructions and procedures to complete tasks
Ability to perform work activities in a safe and responsible manner in line with all FAB9 EHS&S policies
Work independently and collaboratively with teams in a fast-paced environment
Support and engage in training activities
Perform preventive, and corrective maintenance on equipment as required per the operating procedures
Monitor, control, and test semiconductor equipment for manufacturing readiness
Recover equipment from process interruptions, complete event documentation and effectively communicate end of shift pass downs
Ability to effectively use time management to prioritize and plan daily work and scheduled activities
Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements, and programs
Other duties as assigned by manager / supervisor
Qualification
Required
Education: 2 Year Technical/associate's degree in science, Math, Engineering, Semi-Conductor Manufacturing or a related discipline or equivalent military training/experience or equivalence
Experience: minimum 8+ years' mechanical / electrical experience or relevant semiconductor related equipment repair
Travel Requirements: Minimal travel
Language Fluency: English (both Written & Verbal)
Basic reading and writing comprehension skills
Basic computer navigation skills - (i.e.Windows, Microsoft Office, Outlook)
Able to work in a cleanroom environment wearing required clean room clothing per semiconductor protocol/requirements
Able to operate computer interfacing systems
Able to work in a standing position for an extended period of time (during a 12-hour shift)
Able to follow detailed instructions and procedures to complete tasks and required documentation; demonstrate solid work performance in an environment requiring high level of attention to detail and timeliness
Able to lift equipment and tools when performing maintenance activities (above 50lbs requires a two-person lift)
Flexible and willing to work any shift (3-4 days alternating weeks during day or night shift)
Preferred
Education: 4 Year Technical/associate's degree in science, Math, Engineering, Semi-Conductor Manufacturing or a related discipline or equivalent military training/experience or equivalence
Experience: 10+ years of relevant experience or equivalent military experience
Strong technical skills and knowledge of semiconductor processing and process equipment
Proficiency with software applications and Microsoft Office
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong planning & organizational skills
