Responsibilities
Provide exceptional customer service by assisting taxpayers at the counter, email, or over the telephone, including directing taxpayers to specific departments; monitoring check-in system; answering questions from the taxpayer as required
Update real estate tax mailing information
Prepare and mail corrected bills when charges are adjusted between mass mailings
Adjust and approve bills prior to cashier acceptance
Collaborate with the Auditor’s office to add and remit interest and penalties as permitted by ORC
Monitor and suggest updates to Treasurer web-site information as needed
Contribute to organizational effort during tax collection
Perform other duties as the Supervisor and/or Assistant Treasurer for Taxpayer Services may deem necessary
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of one year (1) of office experience
Excellent customer service skills
Proficient at delivering concise, specific information in a high-volume environment
Maintain strong interpersonal communication skills
Ability to develop relationships with partnering organizations
Solid computer and analytical skills
Team-oriented
Aptitude for basic mathematics to collect money and record money transactions
Capability to become proficient in job tasks through on-the-job-training within four (4) month period
