Founding Sales Lead - USA
Trident Search is partnering with a fast-growth European cybersecurity start-up expanding into the United States. They are seeking a Founding Sales Lead to establish and scale their commercial presence across North America, responsible for driving enterprise customer acquisition and defining the sales strategy in the U.S. market.
Responsibilities
Lead all aspects of U.S. market entry—prospecting, pipeline generation, and enterprise deal closure
Directly manage the end-to-end sales cycle with relevant security decision-makers at enterprise and mid-market organisations
Collaborate with executive leadership in Europe to adapt messaging, positioning, and pricing for the U.S. market
Recruit, train, and mentor the first wave of U.S. sales and GTM hires (AEs, SDRs, SEs, and channel partners)
Build relationships with U.S. channel partners, MSSPs, and system integrators to accelerate adoption
Provide structured feedback from prospects and customers to influence product development and roadmap prioritization
Own revenue targets, pipeline accuracy, and sales forecasting for the U.S. business
Qualification
Required
8+ years of enterprise sales experience in cyber security with consistent success against 0 - $10m revenue
Experience as an early GTM hire in a high-growth startup; comfortable being both seller and builder
Strong network and proven ability to sell into CISOs, CIOs, and security leaders at Fortune 1000 and high-growth tech firms
Deep understanding of the U.S. cybersecurity landscape, including threat trends, compliance requirements, and buyer personas
Demonstrated ability to build, coach, and lead sales teams
Skilled in enterprise sales methodologies (MEDDIC, Challenger, etc.) and use of modern GTM tools (Salesforce, Outreach, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, etc.)
Ability to bridge a European HQ with U.S. customer expectations, bringing insights that accelerate international expansion
