Responsibilities
Read and interpret utility maps, prints, and aerial imagery
Review and prioritize locate requests to plan efficient routes and meet timelines
Operate handheld locating and detection equipment
Mark underground utilities on roadways, private property, and job sites using spray paint, flags, and markers
Work in confined spaces as required
Follow Utah state laws, APWA uniform color codes, and marking guidelines
Wear and properly use the required safety gear at all times
Communicate daily with supervisors, crews, homeowners, contractors, and utility representatives
Work on-call hours as required
Perform outside plant maintenance tasks, including digging holes, placing ground rods, running ground wires, and replacing marker signs
Qualification
Required
Valid driver's license and ability to drive extensively
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work professionally in fast-paced and sometimes stressful environments
Strong time-management skills and ability to work independently
Proficient with laptop use to document and submit tickets through a ticket management system
Ability to pass a drug screening
