Responsibilities

Apply your engineering expertise to diverse projects, collaborating with teams to devise innovative solutions drawing on best practices in areas such as linear utility projects, street improvements, design/build initiatives, and transportation infrastructure
Contribute to projects involving waterfront developments and industrial developments, leveraging your skills to drive successful outcomes in these specialized areas
Learn to assess risks and develop mitigation strategies to contribute to project success
Gain experience in ensuring regulatory compliance throughout the project lifecycle, including understanding regulations and permitting requirements
Enhance your skills in identifying and overcoming challenges through innovative problem-solving approaches, utilizing both traditional and modern engineering techniques
Managing project tasks, ensuring efficient coordination of timelines, budgets, and resources to achieve successful project outcomes
Conduct site visits and inspections as necessary to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards
Mentor team members to support their professional growth and development
Foster strong client relationships by actively listening to client needs, providing clear communication, and delivering customized solutions that align with their objectives
Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, offering expert guidance and proactive support throughout all phases of the project lifecycle

Required

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
Minimum of 8 years of civil design experience with a PE in the State of California or ability to get reciprocity
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs
ArcGIS, AutoCAD, Civil3D and other engineering design software proficiency is required
Working knowledge of AASHTO, A Policy on Geometric Design of Highways and Streets, 7th Edition
Working knowledge of USDOT/FHWA, MUTCD for Streets and Highways, 2009 Edition
Working knowledge of AASHTO, Roadside Design Guide, 4th Edition
Strong knowledge of construction means, methods and techniques
Experience and ability to prepare roadway/transportation design documents and specifications is required
Familiarity with Caltrans and Greenbook Standard Plans and Standard Specifications
Excellent teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills
Proven capability to work dynamically and effectively in a collaborative environment
Demonstrated enthusiasm for developing design and project management skills
Commitment to delivering exceptional client service and exceeding expectations

Preferred

MicroStation, InRoads, and OpenRoads design experience is not required but desired
