The Principal Engineer, Production Systems will design, install, and debug various Broadcast Production systems, playing a critical role in supporting the production of shows at the broadcast center.

Responsibilities

Design and support in-house video, audio and control systems

Support maintenance department for problem-solving and repair of above-mentioned systems

Maintain network and system documentation

Conform to CBS security policies, initiatives, and compliance reporting

Supervision of project as relates to wiring technicians is required

Required

In depth knowledge of broadcast systems: compressed and uncompressed audio formats and video formats, with understanding of SMPTE 2110 IP design and implementation; production control systems commonly used in complex production control rooms for live and non-live applications

Basic understanding of networking, subnetting, and VLAN implementation

Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and Vizio

Deep technical knowledge of current broadcast systems software, protocols, and standards

Proven understanding of network administration

Hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting experience

Experience documenting and maintaining configuration and process information

Preferred

College diploma or University degree in the field of Electrical or Broadcast engineering or a minimum of 7 years of equivalent work experience

Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills

Ability to optimally prioritize and complete tasks in a fast paced environment

Skilled at working within a team-oriented, collaborative environment

Ability to conduct research into hardware and software issues and products as required

Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word
