Litigation Legal Assistant

LHH is seeking a highly organized Litigation Legal Assistant who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The role involves assisting attorneys with case management, drafting legal documents, managing case calendars, and coordinating with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Assist attorneys with case management, including drafting, proofreading, and formatting legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery responses
E-file documents in state and federal courts and ensure compliance with filing deadlines
Manage case calendars, track deadlines, and schedule depositions, hearings, and trials
Coordinate with clients, witnesses, court personnel, and opposing counsel
Organize and maintain case files (both electronic and hard copy) and retrieve necessary documents efficiently
Conduct basic legal research and compile case-related information
Handle administrative tasks such as billing, expense reports, and correspondence

Required

Minimum of 3+ years as a litigation legal assistant
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat
Proficiency in case management software
Experience with e-filing systems in Texas courts
Strong understanding of litigation procedures
Strong understanding of court rules
Strong understanding of legal terminology
Excellent written communication skills
Excellent verbal communication skills
Attention to detail
Ability to multitask
Strong work ethic
Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys and staff while managing individual responsibilities efficiently

Preferred

Bachelor's degree
Paralegal certificate
