Responsibilities

Review, inspect, and enforce grading and sediment control codes for active construction projects. Ensure active construction sites conform to the approved plans
Review grading plans for compliance with Carroll County Grading Code. Issue completion certificates and recommend bond release as projects receive final approval
Advise grading permit applicants on review/inspection and permit requirements
Utilize Accela for updating projects, inspections, and adding documentation
Perform maintenance inspections on existing Stormwater Management Facilities
Ensure all work is complete and timely to support department goals. Evaluate feedback and procedures to improve efficiency
Invite collaboration and seek learning opportunities. Proactively assist peers to create a supportive work environment

Required

High school diploma or general education diploma (GED)
Three or more years of related experience
A comparable amount of education and experience may be substituted for the minimum requirement
Valid driver's license
Sediment and Erosion Control certification (Maryland Department of the Environment)

Construction Drawings (Developing)
Environmental and Land Use Regulations (Developing)
Microsoft Office Suite (Intermediate)
