ELECTRONICS INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC LEADER

The TRIDENT REFIT FACILITY in Bangor is seeking an Electronics Integrated Systems Mechanic Leader. In this role, you will lead a team of civilian and military personnel in the Weapons Repair Department, coordinating work assignments and providing technical assistance to ensure maintenance and repair of complex electronic systems.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for leading all civilian and military personnel directly to accomplish the work of the assigned shop
You will Coordinate the work assignments and provides technical assistance to lower/same grade employees or military personnel assigned on a task basis to assist them
You will work with the supervisor to plan the use of equipment, facilities, and materials to accomplish a variety of work within established refit cycles, maintenance periods and other availabilities
You will coordinate with technical and professional personnel on matters affecting operational specifications and changes of equipment; validating technical data and test programs results, reporting discrepancies, and recommending solutions
You will exercise judgment and independence in determining solutions to maintenance and repair deficiencies which could be complicated by inter-actions of the various complex subsystems
You will furnish oral and/or written progress reports to the supervisor as required
You will provide informal in-shop training sessions to shop personnel
You will provide detailed knowledge of electrical safety, oversee personnel safety, conduct interactive briefs and understands the injury reporting process
You will promote and explain in conjunction with the supervisor the full range of command programs. These programs include but are not limited to safety, VPP, cost reduction, incentive awards, quality assurance and training
You will provide a broad knowledge and experience in submarine repair/maintenance/modernization and overhaul requirements of analog, digital and hybrid devices, components and peripheral electronic equipment
You will lead personnel in the accomplishment of preventive and corrective maintenance of full TRIPER and depot level overhauls
You will provide knowledge of electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic theory, and its effect with both electronic systems and hydraulic systems

Required

Must be a US Citizen
Must be determined suitable for federal employment
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program

Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326

This is a bargaining unit position
You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination
You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required
You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites
You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements
