Inside Sales Engineer- Commercial HVAC

Responsibilities

Assist with the sizing, selection, and specification of HVAC equipment to meet project requirements
Prepare accurate, timely quotes based on customer requests, plans, and specifications
Process customer orders, track project milestones, and coordinate with manufacturers for on-time delivery
Provide responsive and knowledgeable support to customers throughout the sales and project life cycle
Monitor and manage project status, proactively addressing delays, design changes, or delivery issues
Work closely with Outside Sales Engineers and the Sales Manager to support project pursuits and customer initiatives
Maintain accurate customer and project records within the CRM system to support forecasting and reporting
Participate in regular training to stay current on new products, technologies, and industry trends
Ensure all work aligns with internal processes, industry standards, and applicable building codes

Qualification

Commercial HVAC systemsHVAC sales experienceConstruction plans interpretationCRM systems proficiencyMicrosoft Office SuiteTechnical communication skillsOrganizational skillsSelf-motivated

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field preferred. Equivalent HVAC industry experience considered
2+ years of experience in HVAC sales, estimating, or technical roles preferred
Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems and applications
Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and technical documents
Strong technical, organizational, and communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Familiarity with CRM systems and quoting software is a plus
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment

Preferred

Previous experience with a manufacturer's representative firm or mechanical contractor
Knowledge of major HVAC equipment brands (e.g., Trane, Daikin, Carrier, Mitsubishi Electric)
Familiarity with the North Alabama commercial construction market
