Responsibilities
Simulation Model Development
Design and implement simulation models for automated systems, including material handling, robotics, and packaging lines
Develop dynamic system models using tools such as AnyLogic, FlexSim, Plant Simulation, MATLAB, or Simulink
Model control logic, throughput, energy use, and resource allocation
System Analysis & Validation
Run “what-if” analyses to evaluate design options and system configurations
Validate system performance against KPIs (throughput, utilization, cycle time, OEE)
Support design optimization for space, equipment, and resource planning
Software & Controls Integration
Interface simulation models with control systems (PLC, WES/WCS) and digital twins
Support integration of simulation output with SCADA, MES, or ERP environments
Collaborate with software and controls teams to simulate real-world sequences
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
Present simulation results to customers, project managers, and executives
Support business development by building simulation demos for proposals and RFPs
Document findings and provide recommendations for design optimization
Continuous Improvement
Develop reusable simulation templates and libraries for repeatable system types
Mentor engineers and project teams in simulation tools and methods
Contribute to the company’s simulation & virtual commissioning strategy
Qualification
Required
3+ years of experience in simulation modeling or digital twin environments
Proficiency in Geek+ or other Robotics Software solutions a plus
Knowledge of automation systems, conveyors, AMRs/AGVs, robotics, or logistics flow
Experience with scripting languages (Python, C#, Java, or MATLAB)
Strong analytical and visualization skills with attention to system performance metrics
Ability to analyze AutoCAD drawings
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Ability to communicate, both orally and written, at all levels of the business and with customers
Ability to perform detailed oriented work in a timely manner, ensuring deadlines are achieved
Ability to keep excellent records and details of documentation of the entire phase of the proposal process
Ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time with changing priorities
Ability to coordinate and lead executive level project cost review meetings
Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Systems Engineering
3+ years of experience in simulation modeling or digital twin environments
4+ years' experience in the material handling industry
4+ years' experience estimating project costs is desired
Valid Driver's License Required
Preferred
Have basic working knowledge of control systems related to material handling systems
Experience with Geek+ or other Robotics Software solutions a plus
PLC / HMI experience a plus
Knowledge of automation systems, conveyors, AMRs/AGVs, robotics, or logistics flow
Familiarity with WMS/WES/WCS integration and warehouse design software
Experience with scripting languages (Python, C#, Java, or MATLAB)
Strong analytical and visualization skills with attention to system performance metrics
Exposure to virtual commissioning and real-time emulation
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders
Valid Passport a plus
