Electronic Security Designer

Thornton Tomasetti is an independent organization of creative thinkers and innovative doers collaborating from offices worldwide. They are seeking an entry-level Revit modeler who will support electronic security, IT/Telecom, and AV drawing production, working closely with engineers and consultants to enhance security solutions for various project types.

Responsibilities

Produce coordinated Revit models and drawing sets for electronic security (e.g., access control, video surveillance), IT/Telecom (e.g., MDF/IDF layouts, backbone and pathway systems), and AV systems
Create device layouts, floor plans, elevations, sections, details, risers/single-line diagrams, schedules, and annotated sheets conforming to TT standards
Develop and maintain Revit families, view/sheet templates, filters, and project standards to enhance drawing quality and consistency
Manage BIM workflows including model setup, links/coordinates, worksets, and sheet organization; support QA/QC of models and deliverables
Collaborate daily with PD&S engineers, architects, and other disciplines to incorporate design direction and resolve coordination issues; support multidisciplinary coordination and clash resolution
Assist with visualization tasks, including 3D views, diagrams, and presentation graphics for internal and client use
Contribute to continuous improvement by piloting and documenting efficient modeling and documentation practices; interest in light scripting/automation (e.g., Dynamo, Grasshopper) is a plus
Participate in internal knowledge-sharing sessions and on-the-job learning to build technical understanding of security, telecom, and AV systems
Participate in the development of next-generation visualization solutions

Required

Associate's or bachelor's degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology, Drafting/Design, Engineering Technology, Interior Architecture, or a closely related field
Demonstrated proficiency with Autodesk Revit for building systems modeling and drawing production
Foundational skills in family creation and sheet setup
Familiarity with construction documents, drawing conventions, and coordination with other disciplines
Strong graphic and written communication skills
Working knowledge of Bluebeam
Passion for modeling and visualization, with a strong attention to detail, organization, and documentation quality
Ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and contribute positively in a collaborative environment
Eligibility to obtain and maintain U.S. security clearance

Preferred

Architecture background is desirable
Exposure to Navisworks, Dynamo, and ACC/BIM 360 is a plus
Interest in light scripting/automation (e.g., Dynamo, Grasshopper) is a plus
