Aerospace Engineer - GNC

They are hiring an Aerospace Engineer - GNC who will work on spacecraft navigation systems, including orbit determination and collision-avoidance operations, as well as support the development of cloud-enabled navigation services.

Responsibilities
Responsible for orbit determination, orbit prediction, orbit maintenance, and collision-avoidance operations, as well as the associated software development for Vantor's Earth Intelligence spacecraft constellation
Support orbit design, development, integration, and testing of Vantor's next-generation spacecraft
Demonstrate knowledge or experience in satellite Guidance, Navigation, and Control Systems (GNC)
Work to develop cloud-enabled navigation services while improving the underlying functionality of the service / scientific core
Qualification
Required
Must be a U.S. citizen and willing/able to obtain/maintain a U.S. government security clearance
Bachelor's degree in engineering, math, physics, or related field, plus 5 years of related experience. Or Master's degree in engineering, math, physics, or related field, plus 3 years of related experience
Willing and able to support spacecraft operations during off-nominal hours (on-call)
Experience in orbital mechanics, statistical estimation, and associated spacecraft navigation software development
Trained in astrodynamics, rotational kinematics, and feedback control systems
Experience programming in C++, Matlab and Python
Experience with Unix/Linux, Python, and GitHub
Excellent written & oral communication
Preferred
Experience with other estimation and analysis techniques such as Digital Filtering, Least Squares, or Monte Carlo analysis
Experience or interest in Cloud Computing and associated technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD
Kalman filtering experience applied to attitude or orbit determination in either coursework or a professional setting
Proven ability to work cross-functionally with both technical and non-technical groups
Superb problem-solving, root cause identification, Verification and Validation (V&V) skillsets
Strong background in Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GN&C) theory, algorithms, toolkits, automation, research, and/or applications
Experience in Spacecraft Trajectory Optimization and/or NASA's General Mission Analysis Tool (GMAT)
Experience automating spacecraft maneuvers
Experience operating spacecraft utilizing electric propulsion
