Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain the orchestration platform’s multi-agent execution framework, including orchestration logic, agent routing, context management, memory, and decision engines
Develop and productionize LLM-powered workflows, including:
Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines
Hybrid retrieval methods
Tool-use and reasoning agents
Summarization and decision-support workflows
Rule-based + generative hybrid systems
Build agent-to-agent communication and collaboration capabilities as a core platform feature
Implement guardrails, evaluation pipelines, observability, traceability, deterministic fallbacks, and reliability/safety patterns
Build and evolve platform-level microservices, APIs, and event-driven components powering agentic workflows at scale
Develop interoperability infrastructure enabling seamless data exchange across healthcare systems
Build internal SDKs, shared libraries, and developer tooling to standardize how engineering teams build on the platform
Implement observability, vector retention strategies, logging, monitoring, and agent performance instrumentation
Design and build interoperability connectors for:
FHIR R4
Claims and eligibility data
EHR systems
HL7, X12 (270/271/278), and other administrative systems
Build data pipelines, embedding generation workflows, vectorization flows, and retrieval systems optimized for payer and clinical domains
Support semantic interoperability, ontology alignment, and cross-domain normalization
Work directly with customers to implement, optimize, and adopt platform-powered workflows in real-world UM/CM/DM environments
Translate customer needs into reusable platform components, improved architecture patterns, and new engineering capabilities
Serve as a technical liaison between customer environments and core engineering teams
Support AWS + Kubernetes deployments, including containerization, CI/CD, secrets management, IAM, and environment configuration
Build scalable, fault-tolerant, enterprise-grade architectures designed for UM/CM/DM workloads and healthcare data requirements
Partner with Product Management to convert business requirements into technical execution plans
Participate in architecture reviews, design sessions, code reviews, and engineering standards development
Collaborate with AI/ML, data, and integration teams to drive cohesive platform evolution
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to platform maturity and best practices
Qualification
Required
5–10+ years of software engineering experience delivering production-grade systems
Strong backend and platform engineering expertise using Python or TypeScript/Node.js
Strong SWE fundamentals: system design, API design, testing, observability, maintainability
Proven experience building LLM-powered production systems, including: RAG pipelines, Tool-using / reasoning agents, Structured prompting, Multi-step workflow orchestration
Experience with agentic frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, Haystack, Semantic Kernel, or custom architectures)
Strong understanding of distributed decision-making and agent-to-agent communication
Hands-on experience with vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, Milvus, OpenSearch, pgvector)
Understanding of embeddings, similarity search, retrieval optimization, and evaluation
Strong knowledge of microservices, event-driven architectures, workflow engines, async systems
Experience building scalable APIs, message queues, and distributed compute systems
Experience deploying workloads on AWS (including GovCloud): EKS, Lambda, EC2, S3, Step Functions, IAM, CloudWatch
Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code
Familiarity with FHIR R4, HL7, X12, claims systems, care management workflows, LOINC/SNOMED
Experience supporting UM/CM/DM or payer/provider interoperability
Experience with Core Administrative Processing Systems (CAPS)
Experience with Palantir Foundry or Palantir AIP (ontology, pipelines, operational workflows)
Experience building shared platforms, SDKs, or internal developer platforms
Understanding of HIPAA, NIST 800-53, NIST CSF 2.0, SOC 2, HiTrust, FedRAMP, PHI handling, encryption, and auditability
Thrives in high-velocity, ambiguous environments with quickly evolving requirements
Engineering-first mindset with strong cross-functional fluency (Engineering × Technology × Business)
