Retail Account Manager

The Retail Account Manager will drive retail sales, manage investments, and foster relationships with retail partners, while also gaining experience in key account management and operational processes.

Responsibilities

Own account planning and growth: expand assortment, manage trade and financials, deliver strategic presentations, and inform decisions aligned to the plan
Lead internal/external meeting cadence: align on initiatives, track action items for both parties, and drive timely follow-through
Coordinate end-to-end operations: partner with supply/warehouse, customer service, retail ops, and accounting to prevent/resolve issues impacting the customer and Elanco sales
Manage financials and analytics: forecast accurately, process invoices/rebates, optimize trade spend for ROI/net sales, and analyze programs/KPIs (with Finance/Omnium) to improve performance
Build strategic relationships and enablement: act as a trusted advisor, facilitate education and business reviews, and collaborate with Category Management and Shopper Marketing to identify opportunities and close performance gaps

Required

Bachelor's Degree
Minimum two years of experience in business-to-business (B2B) sales or equivalent selling experience within a competitive environment
Experience in the animal health industry is a strong plus
Proven problem-solving skills
Analytical abilities
Passion for continuous improvement
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Preferred

Ability to influence decisions and outcomes without direct authority, effectively navigating complex organizational structures
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to deliver compelling presentations to both internal and external audiences
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport quickly
Demonstrated ability to think strategically, anticipate future market trends, and develop innovative solutions to address customer needs
Knowledge of the retail industry best practices, and passion for our customers to win in the market
